Last month I got a call from Shawn, a husband looking to gift his wife of 30 years with a heartfelt surprise for her birthday. He'd read about my new Logansport, Indiana studio in the Pharos Tribune, and the idea of having a piece custom made for his specific needs sounded perfect. Shawn saw the value of working with a local photographer to craft something unique and personal for his lovely wife.
A few days later, Shawn, his children, and grandchildren came to meet me and tour the space. They got to see sample pieces and feel them in their own hands. Instantly Shawn knew he wanted a gallery wrapped canvas for his wife, Roberta.
We set up a time for the photo shoot, and we talked about where the piece would go in their home. We were able to select the perfect size for where Shawn's art would be hung, and a few short days later we had a fun session in the studio of his two adult children.
With her birthday coming soon, I was able to fast track the editing process to show options for Shawn's wife's gift. When we met again for the in-person photo reveal and ordering appointment, I could tell the photos pulled at his heartstrings - something I hope for with each client! He and his children talked about which image was their favorite, and with a little help from me, they decided on the right image for their birthday gift.
We placed the order that night, and Shawn picked it up at the studio when it arrived. Both he and I were excited to see it in person, and Shawn told me about his family's plan to give it to Roberta on her birthday night.
Flash forward to her birthday. Shawn and his family managed to keep the secret, and Roberta was completely surprised! She was overjoyed when she received her gift, and her family reached out to tell me how much the experience and the wall art meant to each of them.
Working with Shawn, Dane, and Sarabia to surprise Roberta has been an absolute joy. I am so grateful for Josh Flynn who wrote the newspaper article about my studio, because that is how Shawn was introduced to Lindsey Miller Portraits.
